Lifeguards are responsible for the safety or supervision of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing or responding to emergencies. They are trained swimmers who give pieces of advice on safety to patrons, control misbehavior, and conduct quick water rescues. The major duty of lifeguards is to maintain swimmer safety, monitor water conditions, enforce safety rules, pay attention to swimmer behavior, issue warnings to visitors who create an unsafe environment, or assist new swimmers. Lifeguards may also be required to organize activities around a water facility, closely work with supervisors, oversee activities in or out of swimming pools,  guarantee that participants have a positive experience, for monitoring both weather and water conditions to determine any sign of danger.

Other duties of lifeguards include assisting individuals with swimming lessons, enforcing policies, maintaining order in swimming areas, rescuing swimmers, maintaining cleanliness, maintaining reports, performing first aid, resolving scheduling conflict, determining chlorine content of the water, and orienting swimmers about the activities they cannot make while on the pool or beach. To be certified lifeguards, they must be skilled in effective scanning, maintaining vigilance, and identifying any high-risk behaviors. Other skills they need to have include leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and responsibility. Create your Lifeguard Resume by clicking on ''Use this Resume'' button.

How to Effectively Write a Lifeguard Resume?

Here are some tips to take into account when developing a Lifeguard Resume:

Write a Great Summary for Lifeguard Resume
Before going into different chapters of books, we read the table of contents. Resumes are the same thing. Particularly, hiring managers look for a summary. What will happen when you don’t have a compelling summary? They are more likely to set your resume aside and look for other applications that you do not want to happen. To increase your chance of getting your dream lifeguard position, write a great summary.

Showcase the Most Relevant Skills as a Lifeguard in Your Resume
A combination of basic and unique skills is vital in resumes. Their skills include communication, punctuality, excellent disposition, pleasing personality, and goal-oriented. Also, you can include other qualities and attributes that will make you stand out from the rest.

Mention Your Accomplishments Rather than the Roles and Responsibilities that Match the Lifeguard Position
How long have you been in the lifeguard industry? What’s your baccalaureate degree? Do you have related lifeguard certifications? Are you once awarded as a champion swimmer? Whatever your case may be, highlight any of these accomplishments in your resume.
