IT Trainer is responsible for assessing group training needs, planning lessons, teaching IT staff to use a range of computer languages, orienting employees about Microsoft Office and other software in the office, promoting courses, delivering programs of meaningful learning activities, preparing teaching materials, and applying new technology in video conferencing. IT trainers must also be skilled in liaising with other businesses, keeping knowledge up to date, performing IT skills gap analyses, designing technical manuals, conducting role-specific training on any program, recommending learning system, assessing the effectiveness of every educational session, reviewing business policies on cybersecurity, or maintaining records of training materials. To succeed in the field, one must have administrative skills, excellent communication, management skills, organization, analytical skills, the ability to inspire others, and a friendly approach to teaching.
IT Trainers must also have proven work experience, expertise in designing any technical course material, familiarity with web-based learning platforms, excellent understanding of computer security principles, BSc in Computer Science/Information Technology, or other certifications in training.
